1. Who we are
inBansko is based in Bansko, Bulgaria (“inBansko”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us by email banskoski.bookings@gmail.com.
inBansko is independent. We are not the operator of the Bansko ski resort or its lifts and we are not affiliated with it.
2. What inBansko does
inBansko is a marketplace. Ski and snowboard lessons are given by independent instructors, and ski and snowboard equipment is rented out by independent local shops. In these terms we call them “providers”.
- When you book, your contract for the lesson or the rental is with the provider. We are not a party to it and we don’t give lessons or rent out equipment ourselves.
- We run the website, take your booking and collect your payment as the provider’s commercial agent. We pass the payment on to the provider after deducting our commission (see section 5).
- We review listings before they go live, but providers are responsible for what they offer, including their qualifications, licences and insurance.
3. Booking a ski or snowboard lesson
- You choose a start date and time, the number of days, the hours per day and the group size. The price is the instructor’s hourly rate × hours per day × number of days. The rate is for the lesson, not per person, so tell the instructor about everyone in your group (ages and levels) in the notes.
- You pay the full price when you book. We hold the payment; the instructor is not paid until after the lesson.
- The instructor then approves or declines your booking. If they approve, we email you a confirmation. If they decline, you get a full refund automatically.
- If your booking isn’t confirmed within 24 hours, or before the lesson if that’s sooner, contact us and we’ll chase the instructor or refund you in full.
- The instructor receives your name, email, phone number and booking details so they can arrange the meeting point with you.
- Lift passes are not included. Everyone taking part needs a valid lift pass unless the instructor tells you otherwise. Please be on time: a late start doesn’t extend the lesson.
- All dates and times are local time in Bansko (Eastern European Time).
4. Renting ski and snowboard gear
- You choose the packages, how many of each, the start date and the number of days. The price is each package’s daily price × quantity × number of days.
- You pay in full when you order, and your order is confirmed straight away. We pass it on to the shop.
- You collect the gear at the shop, or it is delivered to your accommodation where the shop offers delivery and you asked for it. The shop may ask for ID or a deposit and may ask you to sign its own rental form.
- The shop’s own rental conditions apply to the use, care, damage and loss of its equipment. Check that everything fits before you leave the shop.
5. Prices, payment and our commission
- Prices are in euro (EUR) and are the full price you pay. We don’t add booking or card fees. Your own bank may charge for currency conversion.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. You can pay by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), Link, Revolut Pay or Satispay. Every payment is confirmed when you book. We never see or store your full card or account details.
- Our commission is 15% of the booking price. It is paid by the provider out of the price, not added to what you pay.
6. Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel a lesson for a full refund up to 48 hours before it starts, and a rental up to 24 hours before it starts. If the provider cancels or can’t provide what you booked, you get a full refund. The full rules are in our Cancellation & refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
Lessons and rentals are leisure services booked for specific dates, so the 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases does not apply to them (Article 16(l) of Directive 2011/83/EU, as applied by the Bulgarian Consumer Protection Act). This doesn’t affect your rights under our cancellation policy.
7. If something goes wrong
- Lessons: if your instructor doesn’t turn up or the lesson isn’t what you booked, use “Report a problem” on your booking page (the link is in your confirmation email) within 12 hours of the lesson ending. This puts the instructor’s payment on hold while we look into it. If the lesson didn’t take place as booked, we refund you.
- Rentals: tell the shop straight away, then email us. If the shop can’t provide what you booked, we refund you.
- For any other complaint, email us. We’ll reply as soon as we can, and within 7 days at the latest.
8. Safety
- Skiing and snowboarding carry a real risk of injury, even with an instructor. Follow your instructor’s directions and the resort’s piste rules, ski within your ability and tell your instructor about any health condition that matters.
- We strongly recommend insurance that covers winter sports, mountain rescue and medical treatment in Bulgaria.
- Bookings for children must be made by a parent or guardian, who stays responsible for them outside the lesson.
9. Our responsibility to you
- We are responsible for running the website and for handling your booking and payment correctly.
- Providers are responsible for their lessons and equipment. We are not liable for what a provider does or fails to do, unless we caused it.
- We are not liable for weather, snow conditions, lift closures or other events outside our control. Our cancellation policy explains when you get a refund in those cases.
- Otherwise, our total liability to you for a booking is limited to the amount you paid for it.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, intent or gross negligence, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit, and nothing takes away your rights as a consumer.
10. For instructors and rental shops
Listings
- Keep your listing accurate and up to date, and use only photos and text you have the right to use.
- You must hold the qualifications you list, any licence or registration Bulgarian law requires for your work, the right to work in Bulgaria and suitable liability insurance. We may ask for proof.
- We review listings before they go live. We may refuse, hide or remove a listing, or suspend an account, if it breaks these terms or puts customers at risk.
Commission and payouts
- Our commission is 15% of each booking’s price. You receive the remaining 85%.
- Instructors are paid through Stripe Connect and must complete Stripe’s payout setup, which means accepting Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement. We send your share after the lesson: when you mark it done, or automatically once 12 hours have passed since it ended (automatic payouts run once a day), unless the customer has reported a problem.
- If a booking is refunded after you were paid (for example, a reported problem we uphold), the payout is reversed from your Stripe account.
- Rental shops receive their share by bank transfer after the rental, on the schedule we agree with each shop.
Bookings
- Approve or decline lesson bookings promptly. Declining refunds the customer in full.
- If you have to cancel a confirmed booking, tell us and the customer as early as possible. The customer gets a full refund.
- When a customer cancels too late for a refund or doesn’t turn up, you keep your share.
- Please don’t ask customers you met through inBansko to pay you directly for those bookings.
Taxes
You are responsible for declaring your income and for any tax, social security, receipt or invoice obligations on what you earn.
11. Accounts and fair use
- You must be 18 or over to book or to create an account. Keep your login details secure.
- Don’t misuse the website: no fake bookings, no attempts to break or overload it, and no copying of listings or content by automated means.
12. Content
The website’s design, text and our own photos belong to us or the people who license them to us. Providers keep ownership of their photos and text and allow us to show them on inBansko, and in promoting it, while their listing is live.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page when you make a booking applies to that booking.
14. Law and disputes
- These terms are governed by Bulgarian law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live.
- Please contact us first so we can try to put things right. You can also contact the Bulgarian Commission for Consumer Protection (kzp.bg), which offers out-of-court dispute resolution.
- Disputes go to the Bulgarian courts. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you can also bring a claim in the courts where you live.
